What to Bring

eBike Rental Checklist - Gear You Need

Before you get rolling on your eBike adventure, ensure you have all the necessitites. Here at Snow Canyon eBike Rentals, we want to provide you with a checklist of some of the things we recommend you bring, and some items other renters have suggested.

We do offer a helmet and a lock for your convenience, but it’s always nicer to have your own personal gear.

The list can look a bit extensive, and not all of it is needed, but we want to provide you with ideas and suggestions for the ‘just-in-case’ moments. We are also providing links to these products on Amazon. (*see Disclaimer)

Essentials

Hydration

We recommend your own hydration pack. Water bottles work great, but a backpack hydration system also allows for storage of important items like keys, phone, wallet.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses will help protect your eyes and reduce the glare from the bright desert sun. They can also help keep sand out of the eyes on windy days.

Sunscreen

We are located in the desert southwest. Please use plenty of sunscreen. It can get very hot and there isn’t a lot shade on the paths. Most people come back a little burned. Be prepared.

Phone / GPS

Your phone should be sufficient for most of our routes. You may not get a cellular signal up in the canyon, so be aware of this beforehand. A GPS is wonderful for doing any side hikes and exploring.

Route map

We can provide you with a map if needed. The routes we recommend are pretty straight forward, but an Atlas can always be useful for exploring around the southern Utah area.

Emergency Contact Info

Be sure you let someone know where you are going, and when you expect to return. Also, have personal contact info on your person in case you do have an accident. Rx info, etc.

Nutrition

Electrolytes

Water is the best, but as you exert yourself, you will need to replenish some essentials. Mix these into your bottle for an energy replenisher.

Nuts/Trail mix

A small pack of nuts or trail mix is an nice treat. They can also help with replenishing any lost salt. Just be aware, they will make you thristy.

Fruit

Fresh fruit like bananas, apples, or oranges are easy to take, but can get bruised. A small pack of fruit can be easier sometimes.

Clothing

Helmet

We do offer helmets as part of your rental, but it is nice to have your own helmet. You know how it fits and functions. Helmets are recommended.

Layers

The desert weather can change quickly. Although it’s usually warm/hot, it’s nice to be prepared in case you do need some extra warmth or coverage from the cold wind or the hot sun.

Shorts

Any shorts will work, but we recommend a padded cycling short. This will help with your comfort, especially if you haven’t ridden in awhile. More cushion = happier riders.

Shoes

We do recommend closed toe shoes. Sandals and flipflops don’t work great, and don’t provide protection. These shoes are awesome for general cycling.

Socks

Any socks will work. Cycling specific / wool are always better. You can also find some fun designs to spruce up your style.

Gloves

Gloves are not required, but they certainly help. They will provide more cushion and protection for your hands. Highly recommended.

Bandana

It’s always smart to have a bandana or Buff in your pack. You can use it for warmth or sun protection. Also for COVID, as needed.

Hiking shoes

Just in case you decide to do more serious hiking while out on the trail. There are great hiking routes in Snow Canyon. More stability and comfort.

Miscellaneous

Toilet Paper / Tissue

You never know when nature will call. There are limited facilities on the paths, but there is no guarantee there will be supplies provided.

Be prepared. :-)

Basic First Aid

A simple kit should be fine for those scrapes and cuts. Just don’t crash or you may need something bigger.

Camera

You will want some type of camera. Your eBike rental is a fun adventure that you will want to remember and share. Share your experience.

Travel Wallet

You need a safe and secure way to carry cash and cards. *Remember you may have to pay the park fee.

Bike related

Chain Lube

We recommend drylube. We live in the hot dry desert, and don’t get much rain. The Drylube works great.

Slime tube sealant

Nobody likes flat tires. Try this low-cost solution. It may save you from walking miles to get back home.

Slime patches

These little tube patches can be life savers. Carry these in your tool kit. They work fast and effective.

Park Tool Kit

If you are a cyclist, you know the name ‘Park’. These are quality tools that will last a lifetime.

This list is meant to help you decide what to bring or what you could use in your bicycle adventures. Remember, you can always add more items to your checklist as you develop personal preferences and can’t-live-without gear. Start with the basics and build your gear from there.

Ride safe, and have a great ride!
